A little over 10 years ago, Sanlorenzo presented its new 100-foot boat at the Genoa Motor Show, which was to become a great commercial success. Classic, timeless and seaworthy, this yacht perfectly meets the brand’s philosophy, which aims to evolve smoothly. Built on this old model, the 102 SL marks a certain revolution in the yachting world. The 102 SL is the result of a study conducted by Chris Bangle, a designer from the automotive industry, plus Bernardo Zuccon and his sister, who follow in their father’s artistic footsteps – it provides an innovative architectural solution that is likely to become a success in the coming years. The asymmetry that already exists in other smaller boats designed by Jeanneau and Beneteau is being applied for the first time by Sanlorenzo in the world of large yachting. Explanation: the principle is to keep only one passageway and to fill the one usually placed on the opposite side with habitable space. In this way, we obtain a half wide-body which, depending on the layout, gives gains of more than 10 m2 of surface area compared to a traditional twin side-deck. Another interesting point: you can reach the fly bridge directly from the foredeck by taking a side passageway that runs along the top of the master suite and wheelhouse. From an aesthetic point of view, we can also really praise the work of the various participants because, from the exterior, the asymmetrical reinterpretation is barely noticeable. […]
